Prior to law school, Chris worked for four years as a sales engineer, designing and selling mechanical and hydraulic systems and equipment for petrochemical companies. After graduating from law school in 1995, Chris was the briefing attorney for Chief Justice Alice Oliver Parrott and, subsequently, Chief Justice Michael Schneider, of the First Court of Appeals in Houston, Texas. Chris then practiced general civil litigation for three years before joining the Houston law firm Goldstein & Healey LLP in 1999, where he focused his practice on the litigation of intellectual property and complex commercial matters. Chris became a partner in the law firm Goldstein & Faucett LLP (subsequently known as Goldstein, Faucett & Prebeg, LLP) in 2002, where he litigated patent, copyright and trademark matters, as well as disputes related to theft of trade secrets, unfair competition, and technology licensing. In 2010, Chris left Goldstein, Faucett & Prebeg, LLP, to form the law firm Clearman Prebeg LLP with Matt Prebeg and Steve Abbott, and in 2014 they formed Prebeg, Faucett & Abbott PLLC.
Chris has significant experience in a variety of practice areas including personal injury defense, medical malpractice defense, civil and criminal appeals, complex commercial disputes, and intellectual property. While focusing on plaintiffs’ contingent fee litigation in the area of intellectual property, Mr. Faucett has also represented large corporations in various litigation matters on an hourly fee basis. Chris has had the pleasure of representing clients in diverse areas of technology including wireless telecommunications, GPS and mapping, automotive, telematics, subsea oil and gas pipelines, semiconductor design and manufacturing, and chemical and mechanical processes.
Chris graduated from Texas A&M University in 1987 with a degree in Engineering Technology – Industrial Distribution. He graduated magna cum laude from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 1995. While in law school Chris clerked for the First Court of Appeals in Houston, Texas.
Chris is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas, and the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals. He has also been admitted to practice on a temporary basis in numerous courts in many states throughout the United States.
